About The Newsletter Gal

The Newsletter Gal, Lee Starshine (formerly Leffler), is a skilled writer, computer expert and computer trainer. She has a Master of Arts degree in Professional Writing and an undergraduate degree specializing in Computers and Learning. Lee has worked in writing, technical support, training, software design, and software testing.

Lee wrote 60 issues of a newsletter on technology for a Reader's Digest® company. She created email newsletters for: a large charity (40 issues); an eco-friendly store (12 issues); a consultant (100 issues); an educational non-profit; and a conflict resolution non-profit (10 issues). See samples.

Lee has been concerned about preserving the environment for more than 25 years. In 1990, Lee founded an environmental radio show for the Waterloo Public Interest Research Group (WPIRG) was on the air for many years. She promotes organic food. Recycled paper is used in the office and, when possible, for clients' print jobs. Her office participates in a recycling program. Lee supports several environmental organizations including The Natural Resources Defense Council and LiveEarth.org.

Lee lives with her daughter in Fairfield, Iowa.
